  • Nicole contacted the Public Design Support after a storm destroyed the awning of her caravan in an garden plot settlement. Nicole uses the caravan as a retreat to write journalistic texts and spend time away from the city.
In an exploration of the local garden plot culture, the omnipresent flagpoles and the search for support structures for the caravan and its weatherproofing, three partial solutions emerged:

A yellow flagpole, from which hangs a wind sleeve and to which Nicole can attach a hanging chair. This allows her to extend her living area into the area in front of the caravan on warm days.

Red jack posts that stabilise the roof and to which an retractable awning are attached, which can be retracted and extended depending on the weather.

A cable box from the sailing supplies that protects electrical cables from rain and weather.
